 Ref:16699  FRODSHAM, Chas. London. No 10067/12397. 2-day box chronometer, with Kew A Certificate, 1922. 3-piece brass bound mahogany box. Mercer supplied fullplate fusee movement. Earnshaw-type spring-detent escapement, compensation balance and blued-steel balance-spring. Silvered dial with state of wind indication, blued-steel hands. 19 x 19 x 19 cms.

Dana J Blackwell Collection. Sold with original National Physical Laboratory Certificate for 1922. Original Frodsham sales receipt, showing it was sold to Captain W B Facer for use on the private yacht 'Jason' in 1928. Box in good original condition, the ivory plaque with small crack near screw. Bowl, gimbals and dial in very good original condition. Detent in beautiful condition, as are the spotted plates. Movement not cleaned by me but this can be arranged if wanted. NB: This chronometer is in the United States and will need specialist shipping and handling. Please enquire as to likely costs.
