Ref:34884  Anon. No 86386. A good centre-seconds movement with rare Kew Observatory rating, November 14th, 1893. Typical Liverpool/Coventry made stop watch movement with brake acting on the roller, the top plate engraved with Kew rating of 59.7 Marks and the date. Single-roller lever escapement. Compensation balance with overcoil balance-spring. Perfect enamel dial. 46 mm diameter.

The testing of watches at Kew Observatory began in 1884 and continued until 1978 - see the article by the late Tommy White in the Horological Journal, August 1984. Lacking centre seconds hand and index with signs of corrosion. Not cleaned by me but willing to tick.
