The rare original edition of this classic work, in lovely condition.
Gold and blind stamped red cloth boards, 383 deckle-edge pages, the top edges gilt, 75 illustrations, of which 7 are in colour (printed collotype). First edition, Connoisseur’s Library, Methuen, 1929.
This book, despite its age, remains one of the key works for anyone with an interest in the history of watches, and this original edition is vastly superior to the cheaper reprints.
A very good copy of a scarce work, with none of the usual spotting, the spine a bit faded but the covers and contents very clean indeed and giving every impression of being hardly used - the best I have handled.
