Good verge movement, circa 1775.
Fullplate fusee movement with square baluster pillars and nicely engraved cock. Verge (recoil) escapement, steel balance. Convex enamel dial. 35.5 mm diameter, 15.5 mm deep, not including centre arbor.
William Mason, watchmaker, one of two makers of this name Baillie records as working in London at this period.
Lacking hands, dial with some minor scratches and the fusee chain off and lacking a hook, thus not working. It will however tick happily is pressure is applied to the train, so this should provide anyone with the practical skills a good and inexpensive purchase.
