Good small French quarter repeating movement, circa 1770.
Fullplate fusee movement with typically engraved balance-bridge and silver regulation disc, the repeat work mounted under the dial. Verge (recoil) escapement. Brass balance, spiral balance-spring. Lovely 'Roman & Arabic' enamel dial with winding between 2 and 3, held by a single screw at 9. 34.5 mm diameter, 13 mm deep, not including centre arbor.
Francois Ageron, Paris, watchmaker, recorded working at Place Dauphine between 1772 and 1783.
Dial with chip at winding, as usual, and lacking hands, fusee chain and steel coquerette. Otherwise looks to be complete and in good general condition, but repeat train gummed up with old oil. Not working.
