Swiss 19th century pattern
For cutting watch wheels. Brass body on three iron feet with pivoted and rotatable brass cutter frame. 16 cm diameter brass index plate, drilled for 11 through to 144. Together with six different sized stumps for holding the wheel blank and seven tail steadying arbors, all in the original wooden box. Height 25 cms.
A rare and complete survival and the only one I have seen with its original pine shipping box with sliding lid. This practical engine and its index plate has never been abused. In very good unpolished condition and ready to use, or just to look at and enjoy.
