18ct gold hunter case with tri-colour enamel monogram on the cover, hallmarked 1899, casemaker FT (Fred Thoms). Typical Kullberg half-plate caliper, with reverse fusee and knockout keyless work, jewelled to the 3rd with cap jewels on balance (diamond), lever and escape, and with hard brass setting for the fusee, the top plate fully engraved with a list of awards and medals won by the firm, the 6-size frame stamped J.P (Preston). Single-roller detached lever escapement. Compensation balance, best quality blued-steel balance-spring with overcoil. Signed enamel dial with state-of-wind at 3 in perfect condition, original blued-steel hands. 43.5 mm diameter. Together with original makers green velvet lined and blind embossed leather covered box, the silk lid liner printed with full details of the firm.

Victor Kullberg, Liverpool Road, one of London’s most famous watch and chronometer manufacturers. Full details of those who worked on this watch can probably be found in the Kullberg record books, held at London's Guildhall Library - some workbooks are missing.

A very good and rare complete example of Kullberg's best work, in a smaller than normal size, but  most wearable and in fine original condition, the enamel monogram not restored, etc. Serviced and guaranteed.
