Heavy silver double-back crystal (flat glass) case with gold joints and bow hallmarked London 1888, casemaker J.O (James Oliver, Clerkenwell) and also bearing the DENT sponsor's stamp. Capped keyless fullplate going-barrel movement almost certainly supplied by Rotherhams, with cap jewels on balance and escape, the top plate signed in full and bearing the Dent triangle trademark. Single-roller detached lever escapement. Compensation balance, spiral balance-spring. Signed enamel dial, also bearing the triangle hallmark, original blued-steel hands. 51 mm diameter.
