Small movement with rare English club-tooth lever escapement, circa 1850.
8-size three-quarter plate hollow-back fusee movement. Savage 2-pin detached lever escapement with rare club-tooth escape. Gold balance (and stud), spiral balance-spring. 38 mm diameter, 5.5 mm deep, not including dial or centre arbor.
Thomas Adams 'watch and chronometer maker' Lombard St, London, previously in partnership with another fine chronometer maker, Richard Widenham.
Lacking dial, hands and index, broken balance pivot, and rather dusty. Otherwise a rare combination for an English made lever watch - at one time in the Vaudrey Mercer collection. Not working.
