Rare wristwatch shipping box, circa 1930.
Nicely made paper covered box with decorative image on lid and six compartments inside, originally holding wristwatch heads, with some pencilled numbers inside and out. 13 x 8.5 x 2 cm.
The Tavannes Group of Watch Companies, Switzerland, who used the Cyma name on many of their products, and who did a great deal of business in the UK, supplying J W Benson and others.
Good clean condition, with just one small spot of damage in the lid. A very good and decorative example of the sort of material that never usually survives. Such shipping boxes are rare also for the fact that they were used to send material to retailers, never usually being seen by the wristwatch buyers
