Line and full colour print
Shows various innovative, Harrison-based ideas for improving the already highly sophisticated English tower mill, 60 x 45 cm. Privately printed 1986.
This reconstruction shows a typical Lincolnshire mill with distinctive onion-shaped cap, incorporating the pioneering ideas of Robert Sutton between the years 1800-1806. The process of milling is shown, from grain to graded flour, and the print is supplied with accompanying text describing the Patented features. Sutton is perhaps better known in the horological world for his most interesting Harrison-based longcase clocks, one of which can be seen at the Usher Collection, Lincoln.
