A selection from when part of the collection was on display in the USA.
Printed paper covered boards, cloth spine, not paginated, 20 black & white plates. Geo K Hazlitt & Co, Chicago, 1897.
Evan Roberts, the greatest of all watch collectors, owned around 1500 items at the time of this publication, and went on to own a great deal more. Watches shown in this book include the Bockels, Haarlem alarm watch, said to have belonged to Oliver Cromwell (ex Roskell and Wertheimer collections, and sold only recently in New York), a Ralph Gout combined pedometer and watch (Evans owned numerous examples), and a repeating watch by Tompion, among others.
A good copy of a rare and little known book. Some shelf wear to the printed paper covers and darkening of the spine, with old ex-libris pasted in the front endpaper. Otherwise in very good condition.
