Ladies all-English made wristwatch, circa 1964.
Gold plated case and integral strap, with stainless-steel snap-on back. Smiths Cal:200 8 3/4 x 5 1/4 ligne 17-jewel gilded movement with 'Permalife' unbreakable mainspring, as first released by Smiths in 1955, and the smallest British movement then in production. Double-roller detached lever escapement with steel escape, the monometallic balance with 'Chronospan' balance-spring. Silvered dial with raised gilt batons with a star at 12, with matching gilt hands. 21 mm, not including button or lugs.
This model is not shown in any catalogue I own, but is similar to examples shown in Smiths 1964 catalogue, page 5. Case and dial showing some of the expected signs of age and use. Not cleaned by me and tries to tick when wound, but sold as needing a service - my cost approximately £120+VAT.
