More details

Top quality16-size half-plate movement (open face set) jewelled to the 3rd, with cap jewels on balance (diamond) lever and escape. Single-roller detached lever escapement. Compensation balance, free-sprung balance-spring with overcoil. Enamel dial with state-of-wind indication at 12, blued-steel hour hand. 45.5 mm diameter, 10 mm deep, not including centre arbor.

Usher & Cole, Clerkenwell, famous London watchmakers, mostly suppliers to many retailers throughout the UK but occasionally also selling watches. NB: The work books of the Usher & Cole firm exist (in private hands) and it should be possible to get hold of a copy of the relevant page/s.

Dial with small hair crack into the seconds bit, as usual, and lacking all hands other than the hour. Otherwise a well finished movement in fine original condition. Not cleaned by me, and obviously in need of fresh oil, but will just about tick when wound.
