Good pocket-to-pocket waistcoat chain, circa 1900.
Solid 18 ct curb link chain with T-bar, dog clip and spring bolt, every link stamped 18, the T-bar and dog clip also stamped H&I (Hamilton & Inches, Edinburgh). 14 inches (36 cm) in length, weight 42 grams.
Robert K Inches and James Hamilton opened their first store in Princes St, Edinburgh in 1866, moving to their present address in George St in 1952. Holders of the Royal Warrant in Scotland for many years, this title no longer in use, although they continue to hold a Warrant to the present Queen.
A slightly larger and more open form of link, ideal for those that do not want the usual curb-link style, and by an important Edinburgh jeweller and retailer, known for selling the best quality goods.
Fine condition, showing few signs of use.
