Herbert Blockley, 41 Duke Street, St James, retailer and supplier of these specially cased waterproof watches for use by Royal Geographical Society and many individuals. This example was, as most were, supplied to Blockley by Usher & Cole. Not all such cased watches, even most RGS examples, were finished to the same high quality as this example.
Usher & Cole, real London watchmakers, suppliers of many top quality examples bearing various retailers names.
A rare chance to acquire such a good example in lovely original condition, showing just an almost invisible faint hair crack into the up/down, otherwise few signs of use. This is most unusual with these ‘working’ watches which often had to perform in extreme conditions, this being among the very best I have handled. Serviced and guaranteed.
