Good large two-train independent centre-seconds movement, circa 1820.
Lepine-type movement with the trains held by separate cocks onto a single plate, the two spring barrels with Breguet-type two-height stop-work, hand setting from the rear, with a brake at 5 operating on the centre-seconds train. Cylinder (dead-beat) escapement with steel escape. Plain balance, spiral balance-spring. Good signed enamel dial with 'Breguet' - actually Lepine-type numerals, blued-steel hands. 50 mm, 9.5 mm deep, not including centre arbor. Complete with its original signed and numbered gilt metal cuvette
Robert Melly, a maker/name Tardy records as being both in Paris and Geneva.
A fine Breguet quality movement. Lacking end of the minute hand and dial with minor chips and cracks. Otherwise complete and in good condition with nothing looking to be broken. Not cleaned by me and tries to tick if wound, but sold as not working and possibly needing repair.
