More details

16-size half-plate keyless reverse-fusee movement (openface set) jewelled to the 3rd, with cap jewels on balance (diamond) lever and escape. Single-roller detached lever escapement. Compensation balance, free-sprung balance-spring with overcoil. Lovely WILLIS quality enamel dial with state-of wind at 12m blued-steel hand. 45.5 mm diameter, 10 mm deep, not including centre arbor.

Usher & Cole, Clerkenwell, famous London watchmakers, mostly suppliers to many retailers throughout the UK but occasionally also selling watches. NB. The work books of the Usher & Cole firm exist in the Clockmakers Company library and it should be possible to find the relevant pages of its manufacture.

Dial with the usual faint hair crack at 6 (no doubt done when the dial was originally drilled) and all hands bar the hour lacking. Otherwise a very well made movement in good original condition. Not cleaned by me but will tick if wound.
