Carter Marsh selling exhibition catalogues, parts I and II
Printed card covers: Part I, 127 pages, 41 items. Part II, 143 pages, a further 47 items. A total of 88 items, mostly clocks, extensively described and illustrated in great detail, together with the price lists for both parts.
Catalogues of the selling exhibitions put together by the firm of Carter Marsh in Winchester for the July 2015 London Masterpiece Fair and at their shop in November later the same year.
The collection was perhaps the greatest collection of clocks, with some sundials, watches and barometers, to appear on the market since the Wetherfield collection in 1928. It included many of the very best examples by Tompion, Graham, East, Knibb, Mudge & Dutton, Harrison, etc. Jonathan Carter and Darrel Dipper, and others, are to be congratulated for providing such an excellent permanent record of the collection, copies of which deserve to be in every horologists library.
