More details

Fullplate fusee movement jewelled for the escape, complete with train, un-cut fusee and some steel parts, the 16-size hollow-back frame stamped IG (probably John Glover, Prescot). 44 mm diameter. Complete with enamel dial signed DUPLEX in perfect condition, in its wood veneer 'pill' box, the inked writing on top mentioning: Duplex, 16 size and the number 27218, and with paper slip dated 16/5/60 and with the initials SJ.

John Glover, one of many Prescot based suppliers of rough movements, on which the best of English watch work was firmly based. English watch manufacturing was split into at least forty separate specialist trades at this time, around 50% who were involved in the manufacture of rough movements, which the Swiss/French called an ebauche.

A rare survival in good original condition, and unusual having its dial.
